Scottish Education + Training's activity is sector-led. This is ensured by regular input from its committee members who represent the education sector in Scotland:

  • Association of Scottish Colleges (ASC)

  • ASC is the policy and representative voice of Scotland's further education colleges. ASC supports and promotes the sector, advances its interests and represents the views of colleges.

  • The British Council Scotland

  • The British Council promotes the United Kingdom in the world as a valued partner. The office in Scotland works with Scottish partners to promote Scottish excellence and expertise.

  • Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS)

    SCIS promotes and supports the significant contribution made by independent schools to education in Scotland.

  • Scottish English Language Teaching in Consortium (SELTIC)

  • SELTIC represents accredited English language teaching institutions in Scotland.

  • The Scottish Executive

  • The Scottish Executive supports Scottish Ministers in the achievement of their objectives including the fields of education, further and higher education, skills and lifelong learning.

  • Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)

  • SQA is the national body in Scotland responsible for the development, accreditation, assessment and certification of all qualifications other than degrees.

  • Scottish Trade International

  • STI is Scotland's lead trade development agency, operated jointly by Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Executive. Focusing on key overseas markets, it helps companies increase their international business, and co-ordinates an effective network of local export support organisations within Scotland.

  • Universities Scotland

    Universities Scotland (formerly COSHEP) is the autonomous voice of the higher education sector in Scotland. Its website contains links to Scotland's universities and higher education institutions.

  • The committee is chaired by Professor Sir Graeme Davies, Principal, University of Glasgow.
